An Invitation From God
An Invitation from God
God invites you…to know His incomparable love…to be forgiven of your sins against Him…to walk in His grace and in His way…to have inward joy which replaces sorrow with hope…to have a daily relationship with God…to have a life which is fulfilled now and life eternally with Him.
God’s invitation is for you to be a Christian, whether you are a man or a woman, and regardless of what race or income level you are.
God’s desire is for you to know Him and love Him more than this world and its temporal experiences. He invites you to examine Him so you can trust Him and learn how your love for Him is warranted. Your examination of God should start with His word, the Bible.
You will learn in the Bible that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to this earth to acquaint us more closely with God. Jesus came to earth to address our sins, for which our punishment is death. Jesus died for us, so His death would take the place of our death. Therefore, God invites you to examine His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus has power over nature, over disease, over Satan and sin, and over death. Jesus did not remain dead. He is resurrected, which demonstrates that He is the Son of God! It is through Jesus that God kindly provides us salvation from sins and grants us eternal life. (1st John 5:11-12)
After you conclude that Jesus is the Son of God, you must trust Him as the Lord (Master) of your life, you must turn from your sins (repent), and resolve to walk in His righteous way. (Acts 2:38)
You must confess to others that you have changed your values and your life to serve God through His Son Jesus. (Romans 10:9-10)
But you’re not a Christian yet! You need to start life new, and you can by having your sins washed away through water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-5)
Then you are a Christian. You are forgiven of your sins, you are in a joyful relationship with God, you have every blessing given by God through his Son Jesus Christ, and you are in God’s family—those who have answered God’s invitation just as you have. (Ephesians 1:1-23)
What’s left is for you to continue your life’s journey as a Christian. You will not be a perfect human, but you will have a heart for being molded by God and you will strive to be closer to Him each day. You will grow in your faith and knowledge of God, experience the countless blessings of His grace, and bring God glory by what He has accomplished by your Christianity.
What an invitation! God wants to be with you in this life, and for eternity!
